2016 brings lots of news from BLTFD Fire Chief

There has been a lot going on with BLFD!

As  you know we received our new truck last March. We could not be prouder of the new truck. It is working great and has exceeded our expectations.

I was interviewed last month by Fire Apparatus trade journal for an article in one of their upcoming web publications. Michigan Fire Company Puts Spencer Fire Truck in Service FAweb116

At the end of July 2015 the Township Board purchased property on US-31 just south of 11 mile and Ziehm’s LP Gas on the east side of the road. The property being just a little over 6 acres, plans are to build a new fire station and township offices there one day. Though we are still in the planning stages there has been talk of possible community center and nature area.

URGENT: Bear Lake Township Fire Chief has issued a safety warning for any recreation users on Bear Lake.

URGENT: Bear Lake Township Fire Chief has issued a safety warning for any recreation users on Bear Lake.

A large area of spring fed open water has appeared on the North West quadrant of Bear Lake.

Anyone venturing on to the lake should always exercise extreme caution but avoid this area completely. Even after the surface may freeze, a new snow covering may hide unsafe ice conditions below.
